Mass JobQuest: Featured Website

Massachusetts JobQuest. the state’s job listing site (https://web.detma.org/JobQuest), posts positions that New England employers list for free. It also links to all Massachusetts jobs from JobCentral, a large employer-sponsored board. Because posting is free, the site lists entry-level and small-employer jobs that you won’t find anywhere else.

JobQuest has a terrific new interface that makes it one of the easier job boards to use. Some of the things I like about it:

  • The list of Top 10 Occupations on the front page includes hard-to-search fields like First-Line Supervisors/Managers of Retail Sales Workers and Customer Service Representative. Click on an occupation to get the full range of positions that fit that description, regardless of the job titles the postings use.
  • The logical, clearly worded category list is another feature that makes it easy to search broadly.
  • You can use a state map to select regions where you’d like to work.

This easy-to-use website is well worth visiting regularly to check for local jobs. And it includes searchable databases of Massachusetts vocational  training programs and of events and programs for job seekers.

For a more extensive list of recommended job-search sites, see my post on Websites for Your Job Search in Greater Boston.
